I would never, ever, ever say that the way someone dresses, or a situation they purposefully put themselves into makes them "deserve" whatever treatment they get. That's an asshole belief of the highest accord.
But goddamit, this volume made me one of those people.
These women are so far from sympathetic that if I were to meet one of them in existent life, I would punch each of them in the face. ESPECIALLY Liza.

Ugh, this book could plow me into one of those people.I would never, ever, ever say that the way someone dresses, or a state of affairs they purposefully put themselves into makes them "deserve" whatever treatment they get. That's an asshole belief of the highest accord.
Simply goddamit, this book made me one of those people.
These women are so far from sympathetic that if I were to run across one of them in real life, I would punch each of them in the face. ESPECIALLY Liza.
This book was written many many moons after the fact. When they were "older" and "wiser" and realized how awful their lifestyle really was, and how pleased they were to help other women not become prostitutes.
"I looked in the mirror, at my tight hot lilliputian torso. Goddamn, I am so fucking sexy and men just love me."
"I had just been invited to someone'southward house, all expenses paid, and establish out information technology was considering they wanted to use me for sex. GASP! What kind of daughter do yous think I am?! But then this guy invited me to his business firm, all expenses paid. Hell yes! What could possibly Get Wrong?!"
YOU FUCKING MORON. YOU Fabricated ME Call up Y'all DESERVED THE TREATMENT Y'all GOT, WHICH MAKES ME AN ASSHOLE, AND PISSES ME OFF EVEN More YOUR Breathy DUMBFUCKERY.

However, if I'yard notwithstanding talking about it (as I did after concurring with a friend nearly not loving Shades of Greyness 2 but and so saying "Only did you ever read this volume, You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again?") And I idea it was amazingly shocking and spellbinding then, and still remember it now several years afterward.
I too read this a long fourth dimension ago (Pre-Goodreads I presume since I didn't review) - and still remember so many lurid details from this total trashy gossipy amazing better-than-US/Enquirer/People tales likewise. I didn't remember the call girl/drugs "don't practice what I did" aspect of the book every bit much as the glory tales - which there are many, and in total technicolor.
I also institute my copy at a (library) used book sale for $.25.
Once my book guild heard about it, we all read my re-create (although it wasn't e'er the calendar month'south pick... just a must-read that we all were shocked & amazed by.) If this is your sort of thang, and you lot tin find a copy, you volition most likely be unable to put it downward - and will pass it on to all like-minded friends.

I found this book at a thrift store and was intrigued and since I only paid 25 cents for it I didn't have a lot of expectations for information technology. That beingness said, the book was withal kind of a stinker. The stories being told are sold as a cautionary tale to young women in Hollywood who let the men phone call the shots, and how these iv women allowed that power to atomic number 82 them into a life of drugs and prostitution. However, the stories were full of bragging and glamour and never reached the right residual of "it was all great UNTIL this bad thing happened and boy did I learn my lesson..." Instead, information technology was a checklist of the celebrities that they'd slept with and spilling secrets nearly who liked to do what behind closed doors. They glamorized the amounts of coin that they made and how they justified it - you've been giving it away for free for so long, why not get paid for it? - and information technology seems that if they hadn't bottomed-out and/or concluded up in jail they wouldn't have always stopped. At the end of each story, there is a customary laissez passer-the-buck explanation about why they used drugs or sex activity for attending and always with a judgement with "don't be similar me" only they never established themselves equally any kind of part model. It was odd. Null that they said/wrote about would make me change my mind at all if I were because that lifestyle. In fact, this book is a How To transmission on being a telephone call daughter the right way. Which is sad, because that its intention was to save girls from this cycle and promote the ability that a woman has over her own destiny.
Plus, it was a distracting read considering it didn't announced to be edited at all. The writing was all pretty clunky, which is forgivable since these are phone call girls not novelists, but the spelling errors and crazy layout hiccups were hard to ignore.
I'm sure some people will be interested in the 'gossip' aspect (who does what behind closed doors) only it didn't really stand out as nifty gossip. A lot of people like kinky (and non-then-kinky) things, and if you're incredibly wealthy, yous might spend some of your fortunes on fulfilling those fantasies. That shouldn't be such a surprise, simply maybe I'm just not as innocent and I should be.
...moreInformation technology is raunchy, and voyeuristic, and not really well written, though it'due south an easy read. So it too makes me wonder about the fascination on my end with the subject field matter. I remember of information technology every single fourth dimension I hear an Eagles song. I think about information technology every time I hear about Olivia Newton-John, George Harrison, Vanna White, Lorenzo Lamas. You just think, yuk yuk yuk. . . every time you lot ever see a reference to whatsoever of the men, or their wives, or their ex-wives, forever afterwards! Oddly, there was not much hoopla virtually the book at the time, and information technology'south just fizzled out of the mainstream. I expected Don Henley and Glen Frey to become pariahs or file a bunch of lawsuits, only evidently either nobody believed the volume, nobody cared, or nobody read it.
...moreEqually I began reading the starting time story in the book, Robin'due south, I was heartbroken to hear well-nigh how her parents had neglected her and facilitated her about-rape and being pimped out past an older female "friend".

Equally I began reading the first story in the book, Robin'south, I was heartbroken to hear about how her parents had neglected her and facilitated her almost-rape and being pimped out past an older female person "friend".
But then instead of being a cautionary tale and revealing the mechanisms, the brainwashing and how it chips abroad at a young daughter'due south/woman's psyche the book turned into i large orgy.
1 business relationship afterwards some other of whom Robin sexually serviced in what way and how disappointed she was when the men wouldn't dearest her merely only use her... zero cocky-sensation here. Non even in the epilogue.
The other three stories didn't read much meliorate. At points I was wondering what their issue was, considering the way they talked most their "clients" or famous men they slept with didn't sound exactly very abusive or scarring. Naturally, prostituting yourself will get out its marker, and never a good ane, what I'grand saying is that the four women and the editor didn't manage to drive that point home, to really illustrate what it does to a person. The emotional component was completely missing.
Tiffany, the last of the four women, actually makes a brief mention of this at the very end of her narration. She states that all of her experiences left her completely emotionally numb and that she cannot even feel sorry for having brought other girls into this lifestyle/into prostitution.
See, I UNDERSTAND that! In fact I would look that even, simply that the process of losing your innocence, morality, humanity is completely missing in any of these chapters.
Information technology oftentimes reads more than like sweetness revenge instead of anything else, dropping a few famous actors' names in order to get recognition and attention.
Everything this book should have been it wasn't unfortunately, so nope...this really wasn't for me at all. ...more

SLEAZE: Someone talked nigh this volume 1 dark at the bar. Intrigued, I texted my librarian gf request her to option it up. I hope she was not embarassed getting information technology from her colleagues.Information technology pretends to be a warning confronting the evils of prostitution and guys who do non respect women. But it'southward much more like a boasting well-nigh how hot the women are (constantly they talk about their bodies, and how no one could go on their optics off them). I don't know that much about celebrities and information technology was written in 1995, and then some were (to me) obscure. Over and over they talk about the sense of entitlement rich hollywood dudes have, but expecting women to have sex with them because they are famous OR being able to pay large bucks for whatever kinky, and sometimes fierce, fantasies they take. But there's a ton of mixed letters in there. 1 adult female volition have sex with a famous guy and and so call back to herself "he only got for gratuitous what others would pay $10,000 for! He thinks he can only have me because he's famous!" And then she'll sleep with him again. And so complain that she didn't even get a gift.
Parts are sad - some of the women were coerced into prostitution. And there were parts that were abusive.
What I learned: George Harrison likes to play the ukelele while getting a bj.
...moreIt is supposed to be a cautionary tale, and I call back it accomplishes that task quite well. It definitely removes all the gloss and lightheartedness that Pretty Woman tries to sell you.
And Sylvester Stallone, that is messed up man.
Unfortunately John Ritter is no longer with united states to result a right of respond.

A movie that comes extremely close to what the experience feels like in You lot'll Never Make Love in This Town Once again is American Gigolo with Richard Gere. The volume is at commencement salacious and then profoundly depressing. There will be lots of name-dropping of famous people, but the more the prostitutes talked about their times and what they did, the less their stories mattered. It was about throwing abroad their lives for nothing past beingness at the brook and call of the others who did not value them whatsoever more than they would for yesterday's newspaper. One affair in the book that struck me extremely odd is how much afinity these prostitutes had for materials by describing the interiors and exteriors of houses, hotels, and establishments they visited. That's when I knew they had a warped sense of reality.
All in all, similar Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Hush-hush Sexual activity Live of the Stars, You'll Never Brand Love in This Town Over again is a tough, disturbing read nigh the sex lives of many celebrities.

I cannot give this more than than a 2 because I have no way of knowing if any of it is real. It is like the Enquirer on speed. Only a few juicy morsels:
Matt Dillon is a major player
Rod Stewart does i of the tackiest things I have ever seen.
Glen Frey from the Eagles (RIP Glen) is every adult female'southward dream lover.
My fav..George Harrison (RIP) Plays the ukulele during sex! I mean..in that location is some seriously decadent shit in here but it is great as an escape..especially during Coronas Virus. (I read information technology years ago however).
This possibly the merely time I have ever recommended a book I rated a 2. Seriously though..it certain does take the shock value! No literary masterpiece simply very very fun and crazy.

I also get the distinct impression that some of them were in dearest with some of these famous men and feel the demand to put them on blast since they did not requite the feelings and fulfill their ridiculous "Pretty Woman" type of fantasies. At least one adult female pretty clearly indicates this is the case for her.
Pathetic even if information technology is entertaining. Or is information technology entertaining even if it is pathetic? You make the telephone call.
